Dr. David Cagna is an adjunct Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He serves as a consultant to the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics. He received his dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, in 1990. In 1994, he completed prosthodontic residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he also received a Master of Science Degree from the School of Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Cagna is a Diplomate, Past President, and Administrator of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. He holds memberships and has served as President for the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the International Academy of Gnathology, among others. He serves on several editorial review boards of professional journals and has co-authored the textbooks Stewart’s Clinical Removable Partial Prosthodontics (in its fourth edition), Application of the Neutral Zone in Prosthodontics, and Prosthodontic Treatment for Edentulous Patients – Complete Dentures and Implant-Supported Prestheses (in its fourteenth edition). Dr. Cagna has authored numerous textbook chapters and articles in the dental literature. He continues to lecture on a variety of topics associated with prosthodontics.
