The McHorris Award

Table clinics have always been an important part of the IAG Congresses. In 2009, we began having a competition between the graduate prosthodontic students who are participating in the table clinics. The winner receives the McHorris Award, which was created to recognize Dr. Bill McHorris for his contributions to the study of occlusion and advanced restorative dentistry, his lifelong dedication to helping countless students and his commitment to the success of this academy. This year the winner will also receive a special edition camo Whip Mix articulator. For the 2017 Congress XXVIII, we are very excited to feature 12 residents from 7 different graduate prosthodontic programs.

“I first attended the International Academy of Gnathology in 2011 when I presented a Table Clinic. The Table Clinic setting was more than a presentation to disseminate information. It was an intimate interaction with other dentist committed to clinical excellence. No matter how long the members had practiced dentistry they wanted to learn something new. After that meeting, several members became my mentors. I cannot imagine practicing dentistry without them and the information the IAG provides. The scientific program has world class lecturers presenting on current topics while preserving gnathologic principles. It is one of the few meetings that provides quality CE with fun and exciting social events in the evenings. The IAG provides the principles for a comprehensive approach to patient care.”
